A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider that operates that feature. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Nye County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.

Its content identifies how records may be requested from Nye County Sheriff's Office, local court clerks, the Nevada State Police Records Bureau, and the Nevada Public Sex Offender Registry. The site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal-history files.
